I have a pic I've taken for the transfer case linkage. If you know what your looking at you'll see what I need.

My question: What do I need to do?

Push the arm back on the pin that it popped off,It probably won't stay long since that green bushing looks bad. Most of us replace the whole shifter linkage with something stronger like http://www.boostwerksengineering.com...Case_c_13.html

The 241 or the 242
Just added a 4.5" lift kit. That's what caused the problem. Which one? or does it matter? actually the 231 or the 242?

You need to look on the T-case to find out what one you have.

Look at pic

Or if your sift pattern is.

231 shift patter
2H
4H
n
4L

242 shift patter
2WD
4PT/part time
4ft/Full time
N
4L

Was a T-case drop installed when the lift was put on? That can cause the linkage to bind up and pop out like yours has. If not Im sure the green bushing can be replaced..
But like Andrew said most guys just replace with better and stronger.. The OEM chicken bone linkage was junk out of the factory.

I'm sure you installed an SYE also at 4 1/2" of lift other that just install the TC Linkage kit that Andrew and Duma spoke of they are high quality, work well and cost is low.

Does anyone have that grommet part number or have a good replacement for a XJ limited with the 5.2?

There was no XJ limited with a V8. You are referring to the ZJ (Grand Cherokee, not Cherokee) and that is a different sub-forum here.

Try the stock ZJ sub-forum here: Stock Grand Cherokee Tech. All ZJ/WJ/WK Non-modified/stock questions go here! - Jeep Cherokee Forum
Or the modified ZJ sub-forum here: Modified Grand Cherokee Tech. All ZJ,WJ & WK aftermarket tech goes here - Jeep Cherokee Forum

Also, what TrailerTrash said! lol
