TOTM rear bumpers
TOTM FOR JANUARY 2012 REAR BUMPERS!
TOTM (Topic Of The Month) is a group effort posting helpful info. Post what pics you have on the topic, as well as helpful info for people looking into these topics for their first time. The Idea is to have a less hardcore verison of pirates TOTM here on CF.
Let's see what you've done for rear bumpers, tire carriers, mounting, hardware, after market, or home brewed? (NO FRONT BUMMPERS, that was covered last month. thanks)
Remember to update any of our older TOTM threads as you build, & help me, help you by throwing out some suggestions for future topics here. http:// https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f67/totm-rear-bumpers-118393/www.cherokeeforum.com/f19/tot...gestion-93121/
I've been running the detours tailbone system for 2+ years now! For the price, & quality, I love it. I did trim the factory bumper skin as directed by detours, which has taken a beating. Its 1/4" thick threwout, & the 19 mounting bolts to the rear cross member, which is also backed by 1/4" plate! (not counting the 12 bolts clapping the bumper skin...) It's pure beef
Heres my detours setup. To really grasp the solid mounting of this bumper, check out the mounting instructions!!!

rear bumper
This is my rear bumper. It is the cheapest bumperI found and works great for me. It looks good with the cut and fold method as it doesnt extend all the way to the sides. I baught it as I needed a hitch and this was 180bucks so almost the same price as the hitch would have been.
