Default tom woods sye kit for np242 t case

ok.... so im lifting 4.5 inches eventually. but ive read up and been told that if you lift with even 2 inches your at risk of blowing your t-case eventually.

BUT I HAVE THE NP242. WOO!!!!

this is the only real sye kit i can find without getting a hack n tap.

Sounds like you send in the original shaft in and if they deem it good THEN they will refund the $400.

yup you got it. you get the core charge back after you send him the shaft. I know what you mean $400 bucks to change the syle of the out put shaft sucks. Its a simple concept and if you have a 231 you can get the same thing for less then $200 from other companies.

I wish there was more aftermarket support for the 242. I have read nothing but good things about tom woods products but come on we all know jeepers suffer from empty pocket syndrome. it is a plus that tw's
comes with a drive shaft for a little more. im going to do my own hack n tap eventually and run a stock front drive shaft.
wish i could aford to have tom do it for me but i have too many other things i want to do to the jeep.

Damn $400 core deposit on a drive shaft is insane... a $100 would seem more reasonable.

It's not the drive shaft its a core charge for the output shaft from the transfer case

You could lift it and do a tcase drop but sye is def the way to go,

All the TW kit is for the 242 is essentially a hack-n-tap. But I think they cut and tap it on a lathe. The good thing about this is that 1 you know everything will be square and centered, and 2 that the output shaft will have good splines. You could have bad splines on you shaft and not even know it untill you tear it apart.

Honestly once you get the core charge back, which is for your original T-case output shaft, the cost is reasonable for a drop in output shaft, yoke, and a new driveline that you know is the correct length.

Are you talking about the TW shaft? you specify the length you need during the ordering process to ensure it's the proper length. Measuring instructions are on their website.
