Tires are rubbing. Can't figure out where.
Vehicle: 1990 Jeep Cherokee 4.0l, auto trans, np 231 transfer case
Setup:
SYE w/ front driveshaft in rear
8.8 from Explorer
4.5" of lift
CAD brackets
Stock U/LCAs
Rough Country double shear adjustable track bar - axle is centered side to side
33x12.5x15 general grabber at2s on 15x8 cragar soft 8s w/ 4" bs
I made extended sway bar end links by cutting the stock ones and welding round stock in the middle to the correct length to return the sway bar to 12 degrees.
Trimmed the front and back of flares/fenders to provide 1" of clearance when turning wheel lock to lock in the driveway. I'll move the flares up about an inch or so and trim the fenders soon.
The tires don't rub the LCAs when turned to the lock in my driveway. There is about 1/2" of clearance to the LCA. Is the tire flexing within the rim, coming into contact w/ the LCA when turning wheel at speed? Are bushings worn to a point things are shifting when the vehicle is rolling? Is there another area it could be rubbing?
New to Jeeps and confused on this one.

Is there something I can coat the wheel well, LCAs, sway bar, and anything else in there that will show the rubbing after a quick drive? Like chalk maybe?

With 4 1/2" of lift adj. upper and lower control arms are quite helpful in centering the tire in the wheel well and setting the pinion angle on the front differential. I ran that size of tire when I was at 3" of lift and now at 4 1/2" both 33's and 35's the inter fender is a problem and mine was removed long ago when I trimmed the fenders. In order to flex properly I think you need to do more trimming, your very limited.

Major trimming is planned. Right now I'm just trying to get it on the road to shake loose any issues. Before I go off road I will trim and bump stop.
I assumed I wouldn't need adjustable arms with the drop brackets. The lower arms are just about parallel with the ground just like stock.

Is you tire centered in the wheel well opening? Besides stock arms are very weak and the upper mount needs to be reinforced on the passenger side known issue. Larger tires show up weak points and problem areas that need to be addressed.

Haven't pulled a tape on the wheel to see if its centered, but the wheel looks centered in the opening. Tell me more about beefing up the UCA mount on the passenger side. I did a search on the forum and found very little. I have another axle up on my workbench now that I am building to throw in the Jeep. I want to beef the axle housing up to handle my planned use. Plan to use the Jeep for driving on beach, trail riding, don't have much interest in rock crawling.
