Default Tire pressure on 33s or larger

What pressure do you run on the street? I know larger tires aren't supposed to be filled to factory settings, but how much lower do you go than the "max" rating on the tire?

Depends on how wide they are. I run my 33 12.50's at 25 in the front, 23 in the rear.

generally the larger the tire the lower i run them. i try to find the nice comprimise between traction, ride quality, and treadwear. Traction taking prioroty.

for reference every radial mud terrain between 32" and 35" i ran around 28-30 psi, 36" bias swampers around 24 psi, and every creepy crawler i ran (37" to 38.5") at 18-20 psi.

It's going to depend on what all you carry in your vehicle and wheel width as well as the tire compound. Some you can run lower than others. I ran my 35 MTZs at 15-20 on the street and 10 on the trail. My current 38s I run 10 on the street and 3-5 on the trail.

Got to Walmart and buy one of those big sticks of sidewalk chalk. jack your tire pressure up to 35 psi, and go to an empty parking lot, and then rub the chalk all the way across one front and one rear tire. drive slowly across the parking lot, and keep lowering your pressure until you have the entire tread making contact with the ground. That's your pressure.

For longer hauls, if I pay enough attention I run my 31's at 32psi. Usually around 25-28. I would do the same for 33's
