Default tire balancing act

ok so heres the deal, i upgraded to 35s the other day. congrats to me? not so fast. the tires seem to refuse to balance.. giving me slight DW around 35-40 mph.. after that no real issues. and i know its not the rims and shouldnt be anything in my steering for i was cruising down the highway at 70-75mph with my 32s and had not a single issue.

so back to my origional issue. i first got the tires balanced with wheel weights, that didnt rly do the trick was getting DW still so i brought it to town fair tire bc i new they used equal. well they told me since im running 35s there gonna leave my wheel weights on and add equal to it. (i know for 35s its 4-6oz of equal) i wasnt sure at the time if using both equal and wheel weights was a good idea but hey there the experts not me correct?

so anyways i had both wheel weights and equal in for about a day. decided to ask around bc with both i still was balanced. everyone i asked either didnt know if you can use both or were HIGHLY against using both. so i then took my wheel weights off today.

AGAIN at 35-40 mph im getting slight DW this is def the worst iv gotten it yet (but i understand that the bag of equal needs to break to balance out the tires & only reason they were semi balanced before was the additional wheel weights)

so my question for all of you jeep experts out there is. can i run both wheel weights and equal? and also how long does the bag take to break? miles wise or time wise and are there any ways to speed up the process bc i needa know if im gonna be making a trip back to town fair to give em a peice of my mind and have them correctly do my tires.

all opinions would be greatly appreciated as i am completely lost on this topic. thanks.

The weight difference in your meats might be throwing something else out of wack.

Have you checked your tierods, ball joints, lug nuts, hubs, u joints, track bar, etc?

I would check out your suspension. If there balanced on the machine, then there balanced on your jeep. Tire wobble usually happend between 50-55 mph. Sounds like you have a suspension related dw to me.

How are your ball joints? Wheel bearings? And it may sound stupid, but are all the lugs on tight?

And it may have not been present with the 32's and the 35's were the straw that broke the camels back. Or the tires just arnt balanced. It just takes some troubleshooting.

Steering stabilizer? I read something the other day about upgrading to 35's might require dual stabilizers. I honestly have no idea though

Just putting my front diff back on. While it was off, picked up 35's, new rods, joints, hub assembly...basically only the d30 housing is stock. Took it in for alignment and he said without a dual stabilizer I will always have some shake. Still my ride is smoother than when I had 31's and bad joints, hub assembly, etc. he said even just oem, it just needs the 2nd one for support. Gonna try to install it by Friday, and we'll see

This happens a lot when you put big meaty tires on. Get it to someone that can align it with those tires on it. With the bigger tires it will change the angle of your suspension and everything else. Also check your driveshafts and grease them. Another good thing to do is make sure you PROPERLY tq ALL he lug nuts in the proper sequence. If that doesn't fix it there is one other thing I have experienced and that would be to check the brakes/rotors. Pull off the front rotors and check the run out and make sure it's well within spec. This happened on my 90xj it was .03 within spec and I slapped on new pads and rotors and cleaned the dust/rust off of the hat/hub and that fixed it. Hope this helps! I know how big of a headache it can be

Steering stablizers just mask problems. There important when you hit uneven surfaces and potholes, but there just a bandaid for death wobble.

Wen they balance tires there are different setting most shop use a smart balance setting which doesnt completely zero out the wheels to save the weights..
Possibly there not completely balancing out and with such large tires could be throwing u off

like stated before duel steering stabalizers just mask bigger issues.. but at the same time i will prolly buy one just for fact how big my new tires are..

should i get an entirely new allignment after upgrading my tires? would the size of the new tires have that big an issue? or should i adjust any of my steering components like drag link or trac bar after going to 35s?

i will check the wheel bearings and axle joints and see if there going. but they shoulda been replaced within last 2 years max.

any other suggestions? i just want as smooth ride as i can get. i know this isnt a caddy but id like no DW and as little vibs as possible.

Have you taken it to another shop? Or even a offroad shop like 4 wheel parts or something of the like? A place that specializes in offroad stuff.

My dumb questions would be. New tires? What kinda tires? I had some boggers that felt like the drive shaft was bent at speed yet the rig ran like a dream on 2" taller all terrains
