Default T-Case Upgrade

After doing some wheeling this last summer up in New Hampshire I quickly realized that my stock t/c which is just fine on the beach leaves me desiring more low range options on the rocks.

I abused my clutch to the point of my wife saying "What is that smell?"
Not to mention how much harder it was to navigate than if i had a crawl box.

I'm looking at putting a NWF Eco doubler in front of my t/c which would move it back about 8 inches. I have the Advance Adapters SYE on my current 231 and have a spare 231 to get the planetaries but am concerned about shortening the rear d-shaft 8 inches.

Am I asking for vibration issues again going this route? I only have 3 inches of lift.

Anybody have experience with this?

You could swap in a dana 300 twin stick it and get a 4 to 1 gear set and have hell of a gear driven t case.

Yeah, I looked at that option but the D300 is about the same price if I can find it as the underdrive plus I still have to buy the adapter kit. The NWF underdrive gives me three ranges 1:1, 2.72:1 and 7.39:1

Obviously gear drive would be better but I don't bash the rocks.

You will also need to build a secondary crossmember to support that extra weight. Don't forget about that

No I didn't. Was figuring on integrating a custom t/c skid with support for the extra weight. Have to size that up yet.
