looking to install a sye kit for the first time on my cherokee... i have seen some people split the case while its still on the jeep but have seen some take it all the way out... what is easier??

my problem is does the driver side plate come off the jeep to access the bolts on that side?? about middle way on driver side??... i'm just not seeing how it comes off to access the bolts on that side

first time doing an sye kit myself... just lookin for some help before i get to far

That's the best write-up I've seen. I wish that was around when I did mine. Still, once you're in there, it's really straight forward. I stopped paying attention to the DIY's I had after a while. Also, there's no need to remove the TC from the Jeep, it's pretty easy with it in.

X2 don't need to take the tcase out of the jeep. One thing is make sure you can take your top fill plug out before your bottom drain plug out
