to sway bar or not to?
almost done with my 3 inch rc lift on my 98 and it came with sway bar drop brackets. these brackets are stupid and i am wondering if i should just run no sway bar front and rear or get some quick discos?
and if so which quick discos work with 3 inch lift and are reasonabley priced?
btw i ran no sway bars on my old 87 with rustys 4.5 and it wasnt to bad daily driving

I dumped my rear one & broke my front disco's,so I have basically nothing up front.Only can tell it on really curve roads.
You say you didn't have it on the XJ with 4.5? You should be use to the feel of no sway bars.
I gotta say,the higher I get,the more I feel the effects.

Ok... Just cause this will make it the one millionth time I've said this:
The opinion on how much you notice not having your front sway bar is just that: opinion. Fact is that when faced with that rare situation where you need to preform some emergency maneuver, your lack or front sway bar will allow such excessive body roll that physics may take over and there will be nothing you can do to stop your XJ from oversteering more than you can correct/compensate for. This will put you sideways. And not just sideways, but sideways with A LOT of body roll...
My story: running discod, I was going like 30ish and threw my 99 into a little drift around this nice little downhill corner. My roommate and her boyfriend (he's notoriously reckless) were behind me and said they were pretty sure my rear, inside tire lifted up....
Now... Idk about that, but like I said, mike is notoriously reckless and even he was pretty sketched out. I couldn't tell the difference. To me it felt maybe a bit more tippy, but not bad.
Long story short: just run quick discos. You can make em for like 15 bucks with clevis pins from the hardware store.
