I googled to see if i could swap parts from my 1997 XJ to my 1996 and from what i found i can as long as its not cosmetic. I just wanna make sure because the atl in the 96 is going and id like to switch them out until i can afford something stronger.

Also is there anything i cant switch?

I think u can swp out the doors u just have
To re locate the striker and the froun clip will work
Seats will swp out I think the alt will work to

if you have old style hinges on the 97, you can swap doors. all the body panels fit with or without some mods. the whole interior will swap. pretty much everything swaps over.

what do you want to do? wtf is an atl?

 

ALT = alternator???

I do believe everything except the dash can be swapped over. The center console will take some minor engineering; but it's doable.

For the dash to fit you gotta cut the firewall and stuff, something with the a/c unit not being the same
