OK, so I've been searching around now for an hour or so on this site, on Google, and You Tube, but can't find what I'm looking for. I'm trying to install my aftermarket single DIN radio in my Jeep since I pulled it out of the car when I sold it. Problem is, how the heck do I support the back of the unit in the 1.5 DIN slot? The POS Sorsche adapter kit just holds the front, and just barely. I can twist the thing pretty good. It wouldn't take long to break it off-road. So, how have you guys done it? I'm going to put the stock radio back in until I can figure something out. I'm stumped.

Mine is in ok with the Sorsche kit(I am on road 95% of the time though), you can try a piece of styrofoam under the radio to alieve the weight if there is something under to put it against.

Do you have any pictures of one going in? I'm looking around at some and they just use general pictures and I'm not seeing anything that offers more support. I just hate the idea of supporting the entire radio off those two skimpy screws on the face plate.
No. I have the metra kit in mine and it's in there SOLID.

Last time I did a DIN reduction deck install I grabbed some of that hard gray foam from home depot. Its commonly used in tool box trays to keep things organized. I cut it to fit the deck, slid one on front, one on back, taped both in place, and then trimmed them to fit snugly inside the cubby.

Well, I didn't have the camera to take any pics but I got it sorted out. I just used some scrap 1/8 inch aluminum plate we had at work and formed it into two c-channel shapes and screwed them to the outside edges of the radio. Only needed one screw in each side as the mounting "box" butts up with them and keeps them from rotating. The plates are the height of the 1.5 DIN unit and point outwards to be the full width of the original radio. Work great, and I don't have to block off any airflow to help keep the thing cool.
