Sunroof would be cool. I dont want a sunroof. I want a targa top but i have a two door and I would need to reinforce the unibody and install a roll cage.

I put one from a random mopar in my old jeep. It was sweet to pop the glass out and cruse with no doors.

Why not just find an xj sunroof and install it?

IMHO that would be an "Incredibility STUPID Thing To DO" to an XJ.

For one the weak factory frame
The idea of having an XJ is having a roof over your head, want something "topless" buy a Jeep that has none of buy a WJ like mine that came that way.
Ever think of a rollover and having a non factory installed one you need to.

I personally would never buy anything with an aftermarket or a self installed one. I bet you will find very few on this board over age 21 who would buy an XJ with one either. A big minus on a resale for sure.

I bought an XJ with an aftermarket sunroof (funny you say that, because I was 17 when I bought it). I was concerned at first but after having the seller out a hose to it while I was inside I was convinced it didn't leak, which it still doesn't 2 years later now. I absolutely love having it! It tilts up and slides all the way back under the roof. The only problems I've had with it are very minor wiring issues (it actually was stuck open in a rain storm once and I was scrambling to fix the power wire with a tarp over it). As far as structural integrity goes, it's definitely doesn't help. That's not something I thought about in my infinite wisdom when buying my jeep. The one thing thy really sucks is there is about an inch and a half less headroom in the cab, and me being 6' 1" really needs that space, but I've gotten used to it and made it work. Hope this helped!
