Well like some many others I did the stupid Toyota filter swap in place of the oil adaptor that came on the xj. And after running it for awhile I regret doing so. Since I have a 95 h.o in my 89 I believe the threads for the oil filter is 3/4" x 16? Which is what the h.o. is right.
I'm tried of cracked filters and oil leaking everywhere so to fix this and to gain some oil cooling and another quart or two. I'm going to install a remote oil filter kit. Just not many out there and some are not complete where I would have to buy more after the kit. I did find one a universal kit from jegs it's the lowest cost and the most complete kit just wanting to know if I'm right in it fitting my 95 h.o. newer xjs are listed the closest jeep listed that it fits it a 94 zj. Which should be the same 4.0L as I have some zj 4.0L parts on my h.o. anyways could some validate that I'm right in this kit fits.

I have used the Jegs remote filter kits on several of my race cars but never in a Jeep product. They were a very good quality wise kit I ran the duel filter ones making my SBC's with a 7 qt. pan a 9 qt. cap. and mounted up high so easy to change after every race along with being able to fill the filter with oil before replacing it.

I was right on thread pitch it is 3/4-16. I'm going to get it and make it work.
