On the 2000 TJ I had, I took it to a tire place to get new wheels put on it... got it home and was gonna do something to it, brakes or whatever... well, they proceeded to cross-thread two lugnuts on one rear axle and 2 on the other... ended up popping the axles out and grinding the lugs off from the back side of the axle with a 4 1/2" grinder... they gave me all new studs, lugnuts and locks for that ordeal... but at least I was able to get it apart without ruining two brand-spankable wheels... luckily I was still running a c-clip axle... non-c would have been a whole other can of worms...

That's what I love about my Droid. Rather than auto correcting, it just throws suggestions up as you're typing and if you see the one you want, tap it. If not, just finish typing the word and tap it in the suggestion bar to save it to memory.

Why all the extra work ? Next time hammer the messed up stud out and pull the new one in using two heavy washers anti-seize and a regular lug . Works well .

This seems to be a problem with the stock lugs. I got all 19 off with some extended effort but the twentieth was **** to be reckoned with! Had to bring it to work and have one of the boys wack it with their Blue Point lug extractor. Cleaned the threads up and all is good. Some fresh solid chromies from your Pep Boys, Autozone, seem too be the answer.
