Yes, but it did not seem to fix it either. For now I am going to live with it and eventually take it to a shop. Right now I am not in a position to through a lot of money at it.

Well that sucks. If I make any progress on mine and solve the issue before you do, I will be sure to let you know what it was in my case.

I have the same issue so I have been following your post to see if you get it solved. Every piece of the suspension on mines has been replaced, but I still need to replace the steering so I haven't tried too hard to diagnose it. I figure once I do the steering I'll concentrate on the hubs and ball joints, even though they are fine when I checked them. On mine it starts at 55 mph continues to 65 mph and then disappears.

yes I have new wheels and tires which have been balanced. It was a lot worse before when I had my old tires and before the lift. I also aligned the vehicle myself after the lift to 1/16" toe in I also set the caster to 5 degrees. These 2 things helped a lot and took away most of the wobble. i do not have a front driveshaft installed yet and I checked the u joints on the driveshaft currently on the vehicle and it was fine. When I get back home I plan to replace the ball joints, driveshafts, steering, hubs, and replace the steering box brace. Yes I am throwing a parts grenade at the XJ but I want to replace as many parts as I can since i do not truly know their status and feel more comfortable when I put my own parts on it.

A lot of people say a driveway alignment is sufficient but I would take it in for a proper alignment. A few tenths of a degree of toe in the wrong direction can cause all kinds of drivability issues. Start with the less expensive items first instead of loading the parts cannon.

Find a shop that uses a 3d machine, laser alignments are outdated.

I'm having a similar problem with mine in the 45-50 mph range. I'm hoping my SYE fixes it.

I think I got my wobble solved. Did not do it at all on my drive to work. We will see what it does when I go grab lunch and on my drive back home. I did 2 things at the same time so I am not sure which one fixed it. First thing was switching out the lower arm bushings. They had some play. While I was down there, I also took some caster out. Not sure what caster its sitting at now but when I do the alignment, I will let you know.

Glad to hear. That's good work. Jazzed to see someone solve death wobble. It's pandemic for us, and a puzzle.

I coincidentally just watched this...

This isnt DW we are talking about. It feels like out of balance tires or really warped brakes. All it does is shake the steering wheel back and forth but not violently. And only does it at a certain speed. My lunch time trip went good too. Still no shaking!

Dont know why, but your link didnt work for me.

Okay. Thanks. Fallible of me. Still tricky. I'm chasing down a steering wobble now. Never had death wobble. Might just go to DPG, have some work done.

Awesome news though.

How's the link now?

And I hope you never have to deal with DW! It is by far not the funnest thing out there. 2 out of the last 4 of my Jeeps had it. One was an easy fix and the other got sold as the fix...

Link is good now!

Thanks. Wow on the DW. Sold, that's pretty serious. Glad about the link. Appreciate thread and the reply.
