Steering box and unibody stiffeners
I have read and searched a bunch of threads and reviews but haven't got a real straight answer. I plan on wheeling pretty hard with my xj and have read the horror story's of unibody cracks , fatigue , and steering box problems. I want to know what the best steering box stiffener and unibody stiffeners front to back are. Trying to rack up parts for my build. I'm gonna run a 6.5 in long arm kit and 33's. Eventually lunchbox in front and d44 selectable in rear. Thanks

liquid iron industries and HDOffroad make front stiffeners. HDO makes a full set actually. ruffstuff makes the best middles.
best way to stop your gear box from moving is frame plates, stout front bumper, and a good track bar brace. if you're going to be welding anyway make a plate that goes on the inside of the frame rail where the gear box goes and also sleeve the bolt holes if you can.

I'm about an hour away from you btw.
I run the HD Offroad front stiffners notched around my bumper tie in brackets with the two fish eyed together. I have a JCR Ofrrad steering box brace on the inside of the frame rail with another brace (MORE Offroad) whenever i get around to installing it. I havent had any frame cracks, but my track bar mount likes to work itself a little loose every once in a while. I really should weld it to the stiffners whenever i get a chance.
Check out Ga Trail Riders and come ride sometime.

Yeah I'm wanting to find some more trails around me cause what I know of around me I have been hitting since I was a kid on a quad. Gets boring. I seen those jcr steering box braces and I think I'm gonna go with them. But I'm waiting on my winch bumper to find out if they tie in or not. If they do tie in ,you think a brace inbetween box and body will be sufficient? Thanks
