Steering Box and Pump
My stock steering box pitman arm shaft seal grenaded on me this weekend, so i figure it's a good time to upgrade to the durango box. I have a few questions however...
1. Until i find the time to change out the box, do i need to try and keep some fluid in the pump for lubrication purposes? It leaks REALLY bad so i can't keep fluid in it, but i've been adding a little fluid every time i park it to try and keep the pump from burning up. Is this necessary?
2. Thinking about ordering the C-ROK steering box brace to install at the same time. I'm planning a JCR bumper with the tie-in plates in the future, so i'm not really keen on ordering the outer plate that will be replaced soon anyways. Would i be fine with just the inner plate until then? I'm not running big tires at the moment.
3. Anyone know where i can get a reman durango box on the cheap? Cheapest i've found is like 175 + core at Advance Auto. Not really too keen on trying to a) find one in a junkyard in good condition or b) trying to remove one from a junkyard durango.

I am also replacing the steering box on my XJ but because my stock box is waaaay to loose.
Anyhow, I also have a Nates 4x4 Slimline Winch Bumper that I am putting on, so I just ordered the inner frame brace from C-Rok. $57 shipped to my door.
I am buying the Durango box from AutoZone because like you, I rather get a nice one than a crappy loose one from the junkyard, after wrestling a Durango to get it out.
I found these at Advanced:

Wonder what the price difference means?
