Squeaking and chirping
Hey y’all. So I’ve been having this chirping and squeaking sounds going on for awhile. Since it came up I’ve done the hubs and brakes but I still have no clue where it’s coming from. It’s only noticeable while accelerating from 0-25 mph. After that it’s kicks in and out but isn’t constant. Any ideas on what it could be?

U joints

I checked the drive line and it all seems solid to me maybe I’ll do the u-joints anyways. Thanks |
Seems solid isn't good enough. To check the ujoints rotate the driveshaft back and forth and look and feel with your finger very very closely for movement.

Might be the angry sparrows from the front driveline centering ball. Remove front driveline and see if noise goes away. The ball assembly stock is not greasable , but spicer and others make a greasable one. I did mine a few years back and it was dry as a bone and rusty powder for bearings inside.

If the center ball locks up it can take out the t case. |
I'll suggest the centering yoke aswell. Takes longer to get the driveshaft out then it does to replace it assuming the ujoints arent rusted in there. But while your at it replace the ujoints if you haven't done so recently

Don't forget the front axle u-joints either

Thanks for all the replies. Is there a specific way to check the axle u joints? Also I’m unsure on what the angry sparrows are. Is it on the end of the driveshaft that goes into the front differential?
