if you think that one through you will realize that the leads to the windows are terminated in a less than waterproof manner AND the motor itself is not waterproof. However, after testing the windows still worked underwater for quite some time.
Also, when you dunk your jeep a lot of the Jeep's wiring is underwater including some sensors and connections that ARE NOT waterproof. Not all electrical components have the properties or even get enough juice to act like a hairdryer in a bath tub

cracks in the wires wouldnt affect it, is what I am sayin.
If you have cracks in the wires such that the wires are frayed and really fairly well connected then yeah it wouldnt work, but WTF happened that you drove into water and the wires inside your door get trashed? Were talking water/mud not a saw mill
