I replaced the factory stereo in my XJ a few months ago, but now I am looking to throw in some speakers, sub, and amps. I was wondering if someone would be able to confirm what size speakers fit in the front doors and sound bar? According to my build sheet from Jeep my XJ came with four speakers, so there are none in the tail gate. Is it possible that the wiring is there already, and I could just add speakers there?

I have a '96 with a soundbar. The speakers are 5 1/4" all around, but you have to remember that the soundbar speakers cannot be as deep as the front ones due to the lack of space in the bar. I have Infinity Reference 5 1/4s up front and some Kenwoods in the soundbar. Also have a 10" JL audio sub sealed truck box with a dual amp screwed into it, all running off a Pioneer head. Installed it back in '08 or so, so all off the components are pretty much out of date.

Oh, almost forgot, with the soundbar, you will not have any wiring for speakers in the rear hatch.
