It wouldn't be hard to do but defenders have lots of headroom, our xj don't lol unless your short.

Ya but do it over half of the roof not hole still helps for storage and is pretty cool

I would not want things hung up on the headliner for sure and only held up by that type of tie-down system. Much les how you get anything out without everything else falling on the floor.

I prefer to have mine mounted to the floor in chests, that the mounts can be bolted through the floor or in a roof rack.

I kinda want to see pots and pans and large cooking spoons hanging from that so they'll bang around like it belongs in a third world caravan.
