I have a 96 jeep Cherokee 2D 5speed 4.0 with 244,000 miles just recently i got a CEL for cylinder 2 and 5 misfiring I changed all the the plugs and wires cleared the code and within a few days it came back on for the same two cylinders so I put a new cap and rotor on it cleared the code and so far so good but I noticed when I get on the highway to drive 35 minutes away when I’m going about 70 mph and only after I have been on the highway for about 20 minutes or so it will start to what feels like a misfire randomly unless I let off and go 65mph. It feels like the whole motor shuts down for like half a second and when it comes back it almost kicks it’s pretty rough and it’s not through if a code and no CEL so I have no idea.i can’t wrap my head around what it could be why is it only happening at 70mph why only after I have been driving for about 20 mins wnd why no CEL. Has anyone had a problem like this or have any idea of what it could be?
