I had one of these for years! great little welder, but then i moved up to a miller 210, 220v machine. but wish i never sold the 140, would have liked to keep it spooled up with some .023 for sheet metal work.

What ya think about beating the floor back and weld plate steel with holes in it to weld back over the floor to strengthen it?

Plate? That would be beastly indeed lol. That'd be hard to swing though real PITA to get it on there level. You might be better off just cutting it out and putting some new stuff in, or sandwiching the floor with something lighter. Could do structure with tubing underneath. If I was going to add in any steel thick enough to be called plate I'd be building skids underneath, make it like a boat lol

So replace the front and rear floors with OEM pans? I'm doing the front cuz it's rusty. And if I put plate up top I got a place to tie in my cage if I do one?

Ooh cage, indeedy. Depends on what you really want, I'd just build structure for that out of tube and tie it in. As for floor that also depends on your means, if you have copious amounts of sheet metal I say just bend your own pans. I did that for my passenger floor but after looking at how much driving I did back and forth to my friend's garage I'm just gonna get the pans from wherever... Then again I don't plan on a cage lol

I got a sheet metal break at my dads shop, and as for tieing in the cage I can put plate top and bigger piece on bottom of it and tie it in to sliders and uni frame.
