Small Lift Question
I know ill probably get yelled at for posting this but theres no way I am going to scroll through hundreds of pages on the sticky for lifts to figure out the anwser to my question when it will take someone 2 minutes to respond to this.
I am thinking about getting a rough country 3 in lift for 255 with AAL.
I was also considering buying some 1.25/1.75 spacers for the front and the rough country adjustable shackle for the rear for up to 2" but I will only use it for 1-1.5" or so.
This would give me roughly 4-4.5" of lift total, which is what I want.
Then Id also like to get the RC sway bar disconnect, to add to my package to be sent all at once. It can only be used at 4-6" of lift.
Is this an okay setup, or should I just stick with the RC 3" lift?
Would I have to get the Slip Yoke Eliminator with CV Driveshaft Kit to go along with this also?

i'd not try to take short cuts or go the cheap route... If you want 4.5", get a 4.5" lift. 3" springs are softer meaning more body roll, esecially when you raise the center of gravity by adding spacers on top of 3" springs.
As Gee Oh Dee said an SYE will be a good idea, but you can get by with a transfer case drop for a little while. You'll want a good adjustable track bar though, and some adjustable control arms would be nice, as well as upgraded steering setup.

Okay got my anwser... I will get the 1.75 in spacers, and 2" shackles and then leave it at that. Then buy the SYE, then the DS, track bar, and new axles before the 4.5" final kit. Seems like a waste to buy a 3" then to later buy a 4.5".

Are you trying to install bigger tires?
You cant fit anything substantial with 2" lift under a 99 xj. I went 2" and couldnt fit crap under it. Dont bother goin 2". You need 4.
You'll def need that sye on your year. You'll have vibes at 2" lift. Let alone 4"..
I have 4" and still rub 31's
