Slightly different angle on the same old lift question bout tires cept I need'm cheap
I'm so excited. I just got a zone 3" budget kit. I have to say that the rest of you ***** must have all sorts of money to blow if that's budget at just under $500 with the necessary additions like the transfer case kit and sway bar disconnects!
It seemed like the only lift that actually looks like a lift but doesn't cause a ton of other issues with steering and brakes and all that.
Now I would like to know what sort of tires/rims I should be looking for. But, of course I can't be blowing money like you rich guys.
Where can I get say 31" wheels for a fair price? I say wheels because I'm guessing I need new rims too. maybe no? tnx

You realize that all the "problems" with steering and whatnot aren't related to brands. It is directly related to lift height. Anyway. Did you get full packs or add a leaf? Your best bet for tires and wheels on the cheap is craigslist. Also. What kind of tires do you want? And what is your budget for both tires and wheels total? You can run 31's on your stock wheels. But you will definitely have to adjust your steering stops and you will lose some turning radius.

Hey man Albuquerque here. Definitely keep an eye on CL. I got 33s almost brand new for 500 and I have seen other sets for good deals. Summit Racing has there brand D windows and Soft 8s wheels for less than 40 bucks each + free shipping. Also check out NM roll call in the neighborhood section. We post all the good deals on stuff we find.

If you cant find anything on CL, check around at the local tire shops- might get lucky. If that fails, check out www.treadwright.com They are retreads but they are actually pretty good tires- heavy for their size but they last along time. As far as rims go, your stock ones should work fine unless you are planning to go pretty wide.

Thanks. Yeah, I've since been looking at craigslist and there are some great deals. Also, I found out that the following other Jeep's wheels are also the 5 on 4.5.
YJ – 87-95
Cherokee 84-01
Liberty 02-07
TJ 96-06
Grand Cherokee 92-98
Also looks like some Ford and Dodge trucks too.
I just have no idea what size rims/tires to get. Also, I found out that 31x10.5s will fit nicely on the stock rims so I'm not sure what to do.
Except I'll definitely keep my eye on CL. Great idea.
