With the sliding rag top, does anyone know if any reinforcements are required?

guys used to use the roof from a LeCar on many custom jobs.
there's not too many of those old cars around anymore, but i'm sure someone took the idea and is reproducing those for todays custom jobs.

as far as structure, i imagine you would cut away quite a bit of structural integrity from the jeep, but it wouldn't bother me any really.
i'm sure it would be easy enough to add a few pieces of tube around the opening to help stiffen it back up a bit. or if you have a cage, there's nothing to worry about.

they are cool tho, and i would love to have one.

I wouldn't do it unless i had a full roll cage.On a stock xj the roof isn't super strong and that would remove all the cross supports on the roof.

according to their rep, there isnt any need for added structural supports.

When I repaired my headliner, there were three or four support braces up there. I agree with the others and would recommend a cage for safety, that is a big hole.

Hes a guy trying to sell something think of him like a used car sales man he don't care about you just his money.Google xj rolled over you'll see how much the roof will crush on one stock.Installing a siding rag top you cut every single piece of structure out of the center of the roof making it pretty much tin foil.
