stock shackles? you need ones that are slightly longer than stock. Mine are off a Dakota and +1" over XJ ones. They touch slightly under full compression but never bottom out hard.

Or just get boomerang shackles

I was wondering if there was a setup that will allow the shackle to not bottom out at all. In other words could you get a shackle that mounts on the outside of the relocation brackets and then the outside of the Leafs? Don't want to sink money on the boomerangs yet, what set up are you running in the rear, i.e. lift springs etc? Currently also right on the verge of needing a sye (vibes when let off gas and no pressure on driveshaft), so if I could drop it a half inch or so that would also be great. I currently have 3.5" springs and the relocation brackets, but with the vertical shackle I'd say I'm sitting close to 6" in the rear

how are you getting 6"? Sounds like your springs are way more arched than you thought - how old are they? Most new packs take a while to settle and break in, especially high arch springs like RE and RC.

I have bastard pack springs (3.5"+/- over stock), a 1" over stock shackle (+0.5" lift at 45° angle) and relocation boxes (5/8" lift built in) for ~4.5" in the rear.

old and well broke in 3.5" springs (aal) I know they're getting me right at 3.5".

RC shackle relocators-1"-1.5" built in

Horrible Shackle angle gives me at least an additional inch.

Thus sitting right around 6"

I just want to fix my shackle angle, I'm fine with netting 5-5.5"

1. Your opinion

2. I know people with the HD's have had same problem

3. I'm not looking to buy shackle relocation brackets, I'm looking to fix my current setup with what I have by replacing the shackle

I'd appreciate help, not useless input. Thanks!

there's no way to re-use the RC brackets with same length shackles and still keep the lift #s (or decrease lift), except for boomerang shackles, or smaller leafs.

I'm surprised the RC brackets have that much lift built into them. If it were me i'd sell the RC brackets and get the HDOffroad ones or the Froehlich low profile boxes, and a bit longer shackle.

Theoretically, if I have a vertical shackle angle now, and got a 1" longer shackle, and moved the shackle mount up a hole, wouldn't it hold about the same height and the difference would be made up simply in the angle?

And it depends on how you look at it, I like that it has 1-1.5" built in because when I go 5.5" long arm this summer, I'll be able to get OME leaf packs (only make up to 3.5") and then with a shackle and the relocation brackets, net the right amount of lift, have a plush ride, and still flex the heck out of it on the trail as it will have a ton of axle drop

theoretically yes, but since your mounting hole is lower than mine, I'd image you'd still hit the shackle on the brackets - probably not as bad though

it wasn't specifically for you, also for anyone planning on buying them, and most of the problems occur when using stock shackles, i had the same problem, until i got jks boomerang shackles .5-1' of lift, which really didint lift any noticable amount after i fixed my shackle angle
