Referencing the picture in post #1, I agree that you should move shackle rearward one hole.

I agree. It'll solve the problem of it contacting at ride height. But still might contact over bumps or from flexing while off-road with the added weight he says he added.

Not necessarily because the leaf springs in question are mostly flat at ride height (pic in post 1). When suspension compresses, the main leaf appears like it will not lengthen enough to bottom out shackle on bracket.

Your right, I didn't notice how flat it already was.

So should I be seeking different leaf springs ?

No Steve and I are saying to move the shackle one hole back before you buy or cut anything. See what that does first.

Then report back to us with a picture.

No, that is exactly how they are supposed to be at ride height. The more arch in leaf pack, the more it resists compression and reduces ride quality.

Moves back one hole and it puts the shackle almost straight up (90 degrees) . I.have not gone offroad yet so don't know how it's going to do. So what shackle length do you recommend. If it raises the back a bit I guess it don't matter.

If it rides good on the road, it should be fine offroad too. However, new shackles would compliment the new leafs and brackets. I like this pair from Iron Rock Offroad, 0" lift or 3/4".

Thoughts on these ? I know they will give me 1" lift minimum but I'm ok with that.

^ Those are just as well if you want the additional 1". Here are the ones I pictured. http://www.ironrockoffroad.com/10456.html

The .75 of lift would be fine as well but I'm wondering if the boomerang design of the other is going to benefit me.

Should not matter with relocation brackets. The boomerang design can help clear bumper bracket, in stock location.
The bend in shackle does not change its angle, angle is measured in straight line from bolt to bolt.
