Default SERIOUS OFFROAD Long Arms - Review

Awesome articulation. I finally got around to getting some mud on my tires with these long arms in place- incredible difference in handling and flex both on the trail and off. I don't even think I've taken them to their full potential yet.

I installed them about 3 weeks ago in my garage, by myself, in about 3 hours. After dealing with some shoddy welds on my crossmember made by a local Jeep shop I'll never go back to, the install went smoothly. The majority of any struggle you'll run into when installing these is with parts already on your Jeep. Removal of the frame-side LCA mounts was probably the hardest part- easily remedied with a better angle grinder than I was using...

"Beefy" just doesn't do it. These are alpha-male mastadon meaty. The arms are made of 2" tubing with 1/4" thick walls superbly welded to TeraFlex joints. The trail I (finally) tested them out on involved some downhill plows through snow and more than twice I tagged a boulder that probably would've mangled the stock control arm mounts. The crossmember is just as solid and mounts to the frame with huge bolts that you'll need a 9/16" drill bit to make the holes for.

The maiden voyage blew me away. Train tracks, speed bumps, and deep potholes were gone. The first thing I noticed was the small but abrupt climb from the street into my driveway- if I hit it with the short arms I had on before at 25 mph or so, I could shake change out of my cupholders. Not anymore. I was even more impressed when I took her out on the highway. The ride is much softer, a lot like the feeling of going to Bilstein shocks for the first time. Simply put, the front end felt more "confident."

I'd highly recommend this kit. Frank is a real nice guy to talk with, he's communicative on the progress of orders, and he knows fabrication. Can't beat the price either. I'm looking forward to taking my XJ on some more challenging trails to further test the flex, but I'm completely satisfied with the improvement on asphalt alone. Easily one of the best improvements I've made to my XJ.

I can also say that Frank at Seriousoffroad knows what he is doing. Its been a while since i got my set of longarms on and i couldnt be happier. There really is no way to describe how beefy this set up is. I have dropped the arms on rocks Hit the cross member, ect. these things are solid. One of the best things is that the kit is cheap compared to any other kit out there and in my opinion this is by far the best kit! Also, i drive my cherokee every day and these ride so smooth on the road its crazy. Another great part that i really appreciate in that Frank painted them to match my jeep (bright orange). he sends everything in the kit to install it yourself and i mean everything. The whole kit is pieced together so nicely you can tell he took his time putting it together. also these things flex like mad!!! i was so surprised when i finally got them off road and got to see the flex they had. Last thing i want to mention before the pictures is how great of customer service Frank has. I have sent many emails back and forth to him and numerous calls when i was stuck on something and he answered the questions i had and gave me advice on what else i could do and what steps needed to be taken next. He cares for his customers so much. Frank at seriousoffroad has definitely won me over as a customer for life. Anyways onto some pics of these things in action.

Whats the warranty on this stuff? Like if I were to bash them all over a rock and use them as sliders... still covered?

It's great to hear more positive things about this setup! I know for a fact that when it's time for me to go LA's (need more spending $), this will be what I buy. After researching all my options, this is definitely the ideal long arm setup for my rig.

This. So they dont have to worry too much about it actually needing replacement.

Any complaints about the warranty really should be handled via PM.

It's actually also because then people would be able lie alot easier and get stuff they didn't really buy. I mean think about it. How easy is it to just say oh yeah well so and so bought em and I got him from him and so on and so on.
