Quote: dang! those LCA mounts on the axle hang down almost farther than stock. if you're going to do a 3 link definitely start by cleaning off your whole front housing. including coil buckets and shock mounts. get it all up nice and high clearancy like
Lol I thought the same thing. Doesn't have any rock rash in the pictures though...

Clayton is nice stuff. I run their radius arms and don't any complaints other than they're radius arms.

Dayam... maybe the reason you don't see any rock rash yet is that it hasn't been on the trails yet, all new paint. I would hate to lose that much clearance myself but each his own. I am using the Rustys HD Adj. Upper & LCA's on mine and well pleased so far with my short arm.

I know many will tell me I will be sorry but I have been using all Rustys HD pieces and do plan on using his long arm XJ kit. For over 2 yrs I have not had a single issue with any of his products and if I do will be the first to post about it and post photos of problems, so far I have never saw any photos of the problems posted about. That does not mean that there have not been problems with some of his products but name a vender that has never had a problem with something. From what I've saw the prices on the long arm kits from different venders are all around the same price of a 1k give or take.

It was an example and the picture was an old one, been used plenty now... And hasn't been an issue. If I need to change it one day I will. Plenty of room to move it, should I need to.

OK, so it's great everyone is telling you to do it the "RIGHT" way. Buy a Long Arm Kit...

Seriously though, I AM running 4.5" Coils up front with a 1.75" Spacer stock Isolator removed. I'm netting around 5.5" of Lift, Performs, Drives & Flex's Just fine on the same short arms that came with the 4.5" kit. Been running that way for 5 years.

Sure, I'm upgrading to longarms now, BUT 5 years ago I didn't have the Cash for that and I would do it all the same way again.

go install your long arms. take your jeep at about 25mph through a bumpy old fire road. come back here and retract your comment. yes money is money. but if you can afford to cut out the middle man it's WAAAYYYYY better

I'm not arguing that long arms aren't better. I am saying on a cost befit analysis, if all you can Afoard is short arms it's not the end of the world.

On a side note, I'm waiting on some DOM to finish them with.
