Default Rustoleom aerosol bedliner on valve cover

My valve cover was peeling and I wanted to paint it but it was just sanding smooth and getting rid of the texture that was on it, so I thought .. Bedliner? I went ahead and painted it and it looks great! How do you guys think it'll hold up?

any way to prevent that? Maybe a coat of high heat paint over it?

Doubt that will work. Just not enough of an insulation there. Just go with a good high temp paint and be done. Pull the valve cover and use a quality gel stripper. Will remove the old paint and all the oil soaked in the metal. Light steel wool afterwords. No primer needed. Just shoot and go. Hope this helps ya some

Also a random question.. Do not all the valve covers have the runner grommets where the bolts go through to the head? Mine never had any grommets and it still had the factory RTV as the gasket

I don't think there is "factory rtv" as a valve cover gasket. Pretty sure they used actual gasket gaskets.

Factory valve cover gaskets are made out of cork, felpro makes a great gasket that won't leak. Don't RTV it.

I have the blue felpro gasket. But it didn't come with grommets.. Did not all years have them?

You should spray everything under the hood with bedliner at least 5-6 coats.
