Rough County offers two steering stabilizers for my vehicle. I was wondering if I could get some input on which one to choose. Part# 87317 which sells for $28.95 and part# PERF87317 which sells for $49.95. Are they different enough to warrant the price difference?

Yeah you really don't need one. If you must, just get the cheaper one. It'll give you a little smoother ride but who really wants that when driving an XJ?

Lol a few more guys **** hard there Jeep is "drivable" without a steering stabilizer cool....
Get the cheap one and yes you need one it helps when hitting stuff to keep the wheels steady and it takes some shock away from steering components.

Dont take my words for it.
Remove the stabilizer, drive it, you won't feel the differences.
If you really have to get one, the cheap one at the local part stores should do as good as the "performance".

It's there for a reason.
If you DD yours, and your roads are crap (like here in Michigan), you will probably learn why you need one if you remove it. Well, maybe not, if you don't mind the steering wheel being jerked out of your hands when you hit a pot hole.

Its like an A/C. You don't need it but its nice to have when the time comes.
Im sure that if you buy both you want notice a difference. Other then your wallet being thinner.

For stock steering, I recommend having one. When I swapped to a used, better condition draglink I couldn't get the stabilizer off my old one. Drove like that for a bit, til I picked up a like new RC stabilizer. Did feel a little looser, but not horrible. The stabilizer will help. With better, aftermarket steering and joints it is not necessary.
