Default rough country lift questions

I am getting the RC 4.5" full leaf pack lift kit in a few weeks and the IRO sye kit. I just wanna know what kind of difficulty and if anyone has any tips on how to get it on the best way. Also a buddy of mine said that he's heard people have had issues with the RC leafs not holding up. Anyone here have the RC leafs? How they holding up? I am also going to run 32" Duratracs so if anyone has any pics of their 4.5" on 32s that would be awesome to post. Thanks

I baught the RC 4.5in leafpack and is what I am currently running. You will have the following problems for sure: The eye to eye measurement is too short therefore it will pull your shackle in making it almost vertical, thus resulting in terrible ride and the actual lift being 6in instead of 4.5. (I took exact measurements after installing mine). To correct the problem you need to buy shackle relocation brackets which will make the shackle angle 45degree and with those and the 4.5in leafs you will be at about 5.5in. They will settle a bit with time. You could also remove one of the leafs to compensate for the added lift from relocators but might as well get the 3.5in leafs and relocators.

Well did you get the "bits and tap" from them too? The first bit(smaller one) worked fine noproblems. I went to enlarge the hole with the second one and made absolutely no progress. Went to go get another metal bit.. and another.. and another... Lets just say thats some hard metal.. about 5 or 6 bits later i had the hole deep enough. So keep in mind youre dealin with hard stuff and you might wanna get some more bits/keep its lubed up.

As far as cutting the shaft i just put it in reverse with no driveshaft and held the grinder about an inch and a quarter from the end. Directions give a measurement from rear yoke to where to cut to (thats what i did)

All in all cutting was easy drilling was the hard part. Tap worked fine. In the end you will be pleased. I was. My 4.5" with a tcase drop wasnt cutting it.
