Guys, I have a 3" Rough Country lift on my 90XJ and been running it for 2 years no problems. I want a little more lift in the back. When I load all my fishing gear and tools in the back along with my speaker box, she sits a little squatty. So I found a 1.5" XJ Cherokee Budget Block & U-bolt Lift Kit on line for $29 bucks and bought it. I know everyone hates blocks, but they are short, only 1.5". Will I be okay? I was gonna go the shackle route, but found these and could not pass up the deal. I do not do hard wheeling, only sand, beach, snow and the occasional trail. Running 31"s and have NO vibes even up to 70mph on the interstate. They are Rough Country, so will they stand by them? Just don't want to hurt my baby, or me.
Thanks
Thanks

blocks are not good, and for $29 i'm betting they're a crappy aluminum, which can break very easily. 1.5" is not short for blocks either btw.
Get extended shackles for the back instead. Autozone sells some "Drop Shackles" for bigger trucks that fit our springs perfect, and give either 1.6" or 2.6" of lift depending on what hole you use.

Just cancelled the order for the blocks and going to get the shackles. Thanks so much.
Blocks aren't always a horrible thing. Aluminum blocks are and cheap China steel ones are. I have had the aluminum ones actually turn into dust and have a loose rear axle! But I have ones I machined out of 304 ss in the back of my MJ and they have been there for about 4 years with some good hard wheelin . They are only 1 3/8 thick though. But never get the aluminum shims or spacers like dukie said.

I've had aluminum ones for 5 years or so. But they're solid aluminum.
Im talking about the cheap cast alum shims. They will break down into dust. Like the ones that came with a trailmaster lift I put on my yj once. They lasted all of 6 months and they were gone and my axle u bolts on the one side snapped due to the added play. Also the cheap craps bolts from the kit.
