Default Rough Country 9500 lb. winch install

Hey guys I just received a RC 9500 lb. winch and I am having problems fitting the control box on top of the winch. The wires coming out of the box in the back are so close to the grill it is impossible to fit without cutting up the grill itself to direct the wires back to the winch. Has anyone had this problem, if so what solution did you come up with? I tried mounting it vertically instead of flat and sideways but the way RC designed the unit it seems not practical. Its mounted to a nates 4x4 slimline winch bumper by the way. Any help is appreciated.

dont want to say it but sounds like the grill gotta be trimmed or redrill the mounting holes in the bumper out further

I just installed same winch on fabbed front bumper and made a 1/4 bracket to bolt to front of bumper and top of bumper and it also mounts fairlead to it, works well and i understand exactly what you mean about wires being so close, kinda a crap design.

I don't know why I didn't think about this before I posted but I just got tired of this being a problem today and removed the existing stainless steel brackets mounting the units box to the winch top two bars and redrilled holes on the brackets themselves so the mounting position is now closer to the front of the bumper resolving the clearance issue towards the grill. Re drilled them about an inch and half if anyone else has a similar issue in the future.
