Hey guys strange question I suppose, I have my basket, but I am more interested in rack bars. Right now I have the stock ones holding the basket in place. I want to beef it up so I dont have to worry about weight. Looking for solutions has been far and few between. I have considered throwing another set of factory bars underneath it, trying to make something up myself to lower the basket to the roof more and still carry weight. Just curious what others have done. I really dont want to mount to the rain gutters (I dont know why but it seems like it would hold less), And I dont want to drill straight into the roof fearing leakage problems.

Thoughts, suggestions, resources to a remedy please!

Sounds like you want to basically keep it to the stock cross bars... just so happens i have two i can sell you..
