Thats what I did to mine for to make sure I could come down hard on them with out bending them up into the door. But I did not like the idea of them getting hung up so thats why I added the skids.
I used 11G steel btw. With the trusses behind them they should be fine and they've been abused. Some dents but who cares.

between the two, i can pump each up to about 100psi before they start to balloon out, and thats more then enough to air up multiple tires, but as to long term air holding not so much because they do leak ever so slightly so after a few days they dont have much left in em. so they are good for a days wheeling trip atleast
