I built some rocker guard rails, Originally I was going to bolt them to the unibody rail but then was suggested to weld them on by a friend of mine. Whats the general opinion about doing both (welding and bolting them on)?

 

either/or should be sufficient. Bolting them on is just fine, or welding them on is just fine. if you weld them on though, dont expect to ever take them off. it will be a hassle and you'll probably destroy them getting them off.

if you really want to do some welding, cut your rockers completely out, and weld in some 2x6 rectangle tube in its place

I thought about doing that but I like the way the rails look and I didn't want to cut my rockers out sooo I built these and will probably weld them just enough to hold them in place so I can drill and bolt them in
