2 tanks of fuel worth of driving, alternating speeds(city/highway mix), get on a dirt road and drive in 4hi for 20-30 miles, Change gear oil after 2 tanks of fuel. good to go. try to avoid long highway trips for the first 500 miles or so

Many sources typically say about 50 miles is the limit. Just be sure to be easy on the gas, vary your speed throughout the trip, and park the rig for awhile after the trip to let the gears cool. The first 100 miles is the most important for break-in.
