Ok so I have been searching for days and cannot find anything about putting a Renix into a H.O, only the reverse.


I have a 1998 XJ (2wd Auto) with two bad pistons and a warped head (overheated), I also have a 1989 XJ (4wd Auto) with a good Renix in it.

I am trying to figure out if the blocks/head are the same. I want to use the block and head from the Renix into the H.O. and put the H.O. accessories onto it.

I know a lot of you put the HO head onto the Renix and use the Renix intake/exhaust manifolds so I am guessing you can put the Renix onto the HO and use the HO manifolds?

The accessory bolt holes appear the same as well as the engine mounts, can anybody verify this?

And finally bolting to the transmission should not be a problem IIRC they are all the same pattern correct?

If it is not possible, what years/models will work?
Any help is appreciated, I cannot find definitive answers anywhere
