Default Remove 4wd shifter linkage without lifting carpet?

Lifted my '94 XJ 4" this past month, now in the process of dropping the transfer case. I bought the Skyjacker linkage lowering bracket to keep my 4wd shifter operating smoothly. After studying how the linkage is set up it appears that I'll need a helper and will need to lift out the carpet on the drivers side. Am I missing something? Is there any other way to slide the pivot arm out of the body bracket without removing the bracket itself? Thanks in advance for the assistance.

And yes I know.... SYE. But I'm not a hard core off roader. This is my fishing buggy for the OBX!

No need to do anything inside, everything is accessible from under the rig.

Ok, but how? Maybe pry the pivot arm out of the tranny bracket assembly?

Yep, it will pop out with a little persuasion.

I've yet to do anything to this Jeep that didn't require persuasion.

Thanks for the advice!!
