Default Rebuild Factory Trac Lok or Locker

Whats up guys, I have a 1988 Cherokee that I am turning into a mild trail rig. So far I've installed a 3" lift and some 31-10.50's. My question is that the jeep has a factory limited slip and I would like to know if they are good enough just to rebuild and use or should I go with a aftermarket locker? Additionally does anyone know if I can use the factory carrier and put in a unit like the powertrax lock right or do I need a full fledged detroit? Thanks for the help.

Conserning how good the LSD is, I can't help you with, but I have one also that I'm thinking on using instead of a Locker since it'll have better road maners...

I don't know how good they are but I'd think they'd be better than nothing. Leave it in and lock the front. Further down the road, if you need it, lock the rear.

Since it's an 88 and you didn't specify an upgraded axle I assume it's a Dana 35. I ran the factory limited slip in mine for a while. I thought it was going to suck but I was able to run everything all my buddies with lockers ran. It locked up very well. For a moderate trail rig what you have now is probably fine. Maybe get a rebuild kit.

But there's always the public fear of the Dana 35 exploding and ending the world.
