I guess we both win.
My question to you is regarding the hauling of a trailer, especially that much weight on the trailer. I have plenty of power including torque to pull a trailer, but do to the wheel base of the xj it could be a disaster, not true apparently.
Can you explain a little more re. the trailer size etc.
Thanks in advance
Dennis

Yeah, yeah, your just looking for some free advertising

Its OK I have shopped from you before and found it a very pleasant experience with fast shipping. Even for someone that lives way up here in the great white north

It was fine... I have a 44 rear with disks and while it took a little bit, it did stop. Bumps were fine, turns were fine.. only scary parts were during high winds across Wyoming. If you've never been across Wyoming, it has to be one of the windiest routes in the US... two days before we got there, semis were blowing over on their sides. That part sucked... Possible a sway bar would help but it was more driving a lifted box, pulling a heavier box that made it a challenge.
I have pulled plenty of pontoon boats, bass boats, longer trailers full of atvs etc.. Never had an issue without the rear.

Ianf406 I now the winds up there. We have friends in Buffalo. We grow up in what is known as the San Fernando Valley, in Calif. Why they picked that location, I'll never know. It is awesome up there.

No need to delete it, about the only way to get rid of it is to ask a mod to delete or move it and there is no need to bother a mod with something so trivial. and if it did get moved or deleted, my reply to it would look really stupid

In the end the ayes had it and I pulled off the rear anti-sway bar on Sunday. I can actually feel a difference without it. The suspension cycles better even with my shackles sitting at close to 90°, I can feel a little more lean in the curves, and wobble after larger bumps at speed. Nothing to write home about to complain, just different that what I have grown use to. I haven't tried towing anything yet so I can't say how that will be, but i will know on Saturday. I will be towing my brothers motorcycle to the shop for him since he doesn't have anything to tow the trailer with right now

In the rear, I think your springs have more to do with sway than the sway bar does. My '99 was stock with the sway bar and worn springs, and if I hit a curve on the highway too fast, it felt like it was laying on it's side and the rear tires would start singing. With fresh firm springs, new shocks, a small lift, and no sway bar, it does corners almost like my little coupe.
The rear really doesn't do much compared to the front. Just compare the size difference between the two. You can twist the rear one in your hands. Like Ian said, they sell extended front links for lifting, but none for the rear. The coupe I mentioned above came with a beefier rear sway bar than the XJ did

Sure, I've driven mine around with them off (too lazy after going off-road) but the front makes a big difference. In my TJ I could really scare the crap out of the girlfriend with them and the doors off though.
