Hello,
I have a 1988 jeep cherokee four door. My back seat needs replaced. What are my options to upgrade to newer style seat. Im open to options

the rear seats are all the same I'm pretty sure. they all have two locking pins at the top and on pivot and on release on the lower. you can always look into GC rear seats but custom fab is involved.

You are correct. Seat styles never changed through the years besides the patterns sewn into them.

what about 2 door seats? my 89 need rear seat and seat bealts..

2 door seats are exactly the same as 4 door seats. If you found a fresh set from any year they'll swap right in.

I drilled 4 holes to mount the backs, the bottoms just fall right in, they look amazing

2 door and 4 door rear seats are the same. But front seats are different right? 2 door front seats recline forward to allow access into the back?

Yes. you are correct. Lever on the side or lever on the back.

Cool, I'm about to swap my 4 door into a 2 door. My driver seat is a bit torn, so wanted to make sure I get the right seat!

I posted about in CHAT. '96 4 door, falling apart. Rust, brittle parts, and about to purchase complete new lift(bye bye RC)

Have a completely, I mean completely stripped 2 door, straight body, rust free. This way I can start fresh, and detail as I go. Replace with new, Instead of cutting out and fabricating. Like say leaf spring bolts in the rails!

Well not that that stripped... it has glass!
