I have a 89 xj laredo manual tranny 3" lift sitting on 32's. Working on gathering materials for a Dana 35 rear end to a 9inch rear end swap with hardened axle shafts. I am going to lock up my rear end, for sure, and I want to do a mechanical linkage locker. Easy to drive in road, cheaper than hydraulic. Any thoughts on a brand or why I shouldn't do mechanical lockers for a on/off road xj.

To the best of my knowledge there are no hydraulic lockers, There Cable actuated, Automatic, Electronic , and Pneumatic
If you are spending the money to throw in a 9" go with a full case locker like a Elocker or ARB if you want selectable, For a regular Automatic locker go Detroit .
