HOW do I get the rear leaf bolts loose (name?) so I can install my lift shackles?. I used a bunch of penetrating oil, breaker bar, nothing, they wont budge. do I need air?, heat?, heat AND air?...I'm stuck halfway through this lift job (front is DONE though! yay!
)
I just got the ole 3/4" breaker bar and used the rear axle as either a pull or push point for my body. Granted I did spray my bolts every other day for a week. Still had to cut out the front two bolts because while they did come out of the threaded hole, they were stuck in the pin for the spring bushing. I didn't have a slide hammer but I had extra bolts and a sawzall.

I also suggested a breaker bar (hi-lift handle) to someone. They broke the welds on nut loose. Oops
But it worked fine for me.

If no serious air tools....
Breaker bar (pipe-like conduit, and use a hydraulic jack to slowly apply pressure to the end of the breaker bar. Make sure you have someone hold the socket on so it doesn't slip. Supporting the bottom of the jack with some 2x4's to get the height right. I use to do this before air tools. Worked great on my rear spring bolts too.

Yeah, can't remember how I heard of it. Works amazing. The key is making sure you have someone hold the socket flush on the nut, and the other person jacking (unless you have gorilla arms like me-and can do both).
