Rear fender trimming gone wrong
Back about 10 years ago when I was younger and a little dumber, I cut my fenders without doing any research and managed to cut past the pinch seams, I’ve lived with this for a while but I’d like to fix it. Any of you experience anything similar and find a decent solution that doesn’t involve welding? Thanks ahead of time! |

Best tip, find a friend who can weld! Maybe try flex seal in a chalk gun.

it may be possible to rivet & bond, if you have enough metal. I have done such repairs and they are extremely durable, like a plane
hide them with flares and will look as good as new |

Thank you all for the ideas. I think bonds is a bit beyond my skill level, so I think the rivets and/or flex seal with fender flares might be the way to go. |

I had done the same thing. Trimmed them in high school and then watch them separate later after trail abuse. I fixed them a few years ago by going higher with the cut on the inside and folding. It was my first cut and fold operation so it isn't pretty, but it's all sealed up now and looks decent. I couldn't afford to repaint the jeep so I did most the welding under the fender. Again, it looks rough but works. I showed pictures here.

Here are a few more pics. As you can see, I was not able to keep the fender from warping a little. That's what you get for not taking your time. Also, I did not add a ton of material on the inside to essentially "tub out" the inner fender. I did, however, add some sheet metal to fill gaps when I pushed it upwards. Hope this help...

Well this got me really thinking about cutting mine past the cut and fold i've had for the last few years. 35s just rub the rear edge.
