Rear coil susp on a dd??
Was considering a rear coil spring set-up on my 94, but since its a daily driver, i am a little unsure as far as what the ride would be like and if coils is even practicle (on the rear of an xj)???? Does anyone have a set-uplike that, or know if it would be worth it??

If set up right it can be dd'd. Id suggest a front sway bar though.

I have a rear four link. I have been driving it everyday, sitting on about 8 inches right now, 37's, no sway bars. It's def. doesn't handle like a sports car, but I dont mind it. Some sway bars would definitely help things a bit. But it gets trailered to the trials mostly, and not a ton of around the town driving.

i would think it would ride better then leaves, just get at least a front sway bar like everybody else said and i would think it would be nice for a dd

Had my last 2dr with TnT front LA and rear coils. DD'r. Put 50,000 miles on it. Great offroad setup. Swaybars are a must if you DD and want a more secure footing when you drive. Also, the rear coils will ride much better than leafs but you give up load capacity in trade. My other 2dr I'm building right now and will leave it a leaf setup. I tow my M416 around, go camping a lot and with leafs its a much better setup. But if it was to be a hardcore rock crawler...

Well, considering my back and right shoulder is shot, partial knee replacement, and two surgeries on the other from being a garbage man, i was looking for anything inexpensive that could net a bit softer/ harsher ride (especially here towards Chicago )where its frigid in the winter, that will still allow me to cruise the xj without the "needles" feeling with the old injuries!!! I know t.m.i., but i thought it would help get the point across!! As far as wheeling, havn't yet, the closest places for me are the Indiana dunes and "THE CLIFFS INSANE TERRAIN OFF ROAD PARK in marseailles ill", both about an hour and a half from me! Also, as far as fabbing something, would love to, but considering my kid will be passenger sometimes, i thing ill prob have to be geeky and buy pre made!!! www.thecliffsinsaneterrain.com
