Default Rear bumper/ frame crack

Alright I decided to build a bumper for the rear of my '99 XJ and last time I took it off I noticed a crack in the frame right behind a mounting point on the passenger side of the vehicle. I made a nut strip that is made out of a piece of 2"x 1/4" flat stock. I thought the 8 factory mounting holes could hold a lot since many aftermarket bumpers only utilize those 8 holes. I have a total of 16 bolts holding it in. I drive to school on the freeway and many time I can see the whole bumper bouncing because of the wavy road.

How do I fix the crack?

And is it the bumper. Pics coming soon.

Thanks!

Stop drill the crack and then weld it. Remember to protect the tank since you'll be right by it.

Drilling the crack is generally the number one objective... lol

But yeah, just weld it. After welding it, clean and paint it so it doesn't rust and get weak again

I stop drilled the crack then welded it back together. Also I added a gusset on the nut strip and the shake is gone and feels solid again. Thanks Jeeple!
