In searching I see the difference between old and new body bumpers aside from the end caps are two things: the angles of the hatch corners and the 97+ hatch hangs lower when closed than the 96- hatch.
Does anybody know how much "longer" the 97+ hatch is??? I'm considering buying a custom made bumper off of a 96- and am concerned my hatch will hit it.

Edit: to be clear, I would want to install the bumper on my 2001.
